Proof to collect before your first regional shift
A job can be eligible on paper, but weak proof can still create problems later. Start collecting evidence from day one, not at the end.
Get the employer details
Save the business name, ABN if available, manager name, phone number, worksite address and postcode. If you only have a first name and a Facebook message, that is not enough.
Keep every payslip
Payslips are one of the clearest ways to show dates, hours, employer details and payment. Download them each week and save a copy outside your work app or email inbox.
Save rosters and messages
Rosters, start-date messages and shift confirmations can help support your timeline. Screenshot important messages before chats disappear or phone numbers change.
Use bank payments as backup
Bank transfers help connect your work period with real payments. Cash jobs without proper records can become risky if you later need to prove the work clearly.
Create a folder for each job: postcode, contract, payslips, rosters, bank payments and employer contact. Do this weekly while the information is fresh.
Today’s action
If you are about to start a job, ask one simple question before your first shift: “Can you confirm the postcode, payslip process and expected weekly hours in writing?”
