Clarify whether you are paid hourly, piece rate or a mix. Ask for the rate, unit, expected average and how it is recorded.
Check training time
Beginners may be slower during the first days. Ask whether training is paid and how performance expectations are explained.
Record your own numbers
Keep a daily note of rows, bins, buckets, boxes or hours. Your own record helps you compare your payslip with what you did.
Watch deductions
Ask about transport, equipment, accommodation or other deductions before payday. Surprise deductions can change whether the job is worth it.
Keep the worksite clear
Piecework proof still needs location, dates and tasks. Save the exact postcode and employer details from day one.
Ask for the pay method, unit rate, expected daily work, deductions and payslip process in writing.
