Check the worksite postcode before you go

A job can sound regional, but your visa evidence needs the real place where you worked. Before you spend money moving, confirm the worksite postcode and keep that answer in writing.

Ask for the worksite, not just the nearest town

Some job ads use a familiar town because it is easier to recognise, but the actual farm, packing shed, resort or worksite may be outside that town. Ask where the shifts are physically worked, including the suburb and postcode.

Check the postcode before paying to move

Use the postcode in the VisaRoute map before booking flights, buses, hostels or accommodation. If the employer cannot give you a postcode yet, treat the job as unconfirmed and keep your money plan flexible.

Save the answer in your proof folder

Keep a screenshot or email showing the worksite address, employer name and job title. Later, match that location with payslips, rosters, timesheets, bank records and any employment contract you receive.

Watch for changing locations

Harvest crews, labour hire roles and hospitality jobs can move between sites. If your worksite changes, ask for the new postcode straight away and record the dates you worked at each place.

Do not rely on verbal promises

A voice message or phone call can help you decide, but written details are easier to check later. If someone says the job counts, ask them to confirm the location and the type of work in writing before you accept.

Compare location with the work type

For WHV planning, the place and the work both matter. A regional postcode alone does not fix a weak job type, and an eligible job type still needs the correct area rules for your visa goal.
